Novigrad is a small fishing village situated deep in the Novigrad Sea, a bay surrounded by National Parks and Nature Reserves: Kornati Islands, Krka River, Paklenica Canyon, Plitvice Lakes, Velebit Mountain, Telascica Bay and Vrana Lake. We are at the center of spectacular scenery in every direction. Canoeing, kayaking and sea kayaking are included in program as everyday activities and are suitable for all ages. The sea and rivers are friendly – they have pleasant temperatures in summer and they are not dangerous or physically demanding.

Our Apart-hotel Agava is situated on the beach, next to a camp at the quiet end of the village. All apartments are air conditioned, with shower/toilet, telephone/Internet line, fully equipped kitchen and satellite TV. It has a pleasant cafe and restaurant including a terrace with view of the bay and Velebit Mountain peaks.

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Sat: Transfer from airports to Novigrad and our apartment accommodations Enjoy an evening get-together party, presentation of the week’s program and tour of local pubs and music cafes.
Day 2 - Sun: Sea kayaking instruction on the hotel beach and trip into Zrmanja River canyon. Swimming and picnic by the waterfall, jumping off cliffs and a coffee stop in the historic canyon town of Obrovac.
Day 3 - Mon: Explore the Zrmanja and Krupa rivers on a canoe safari, a full day trip including canoeing down easy rapids in magnificent canyon and swimming under wonderful waterfalls. If the water level is high (usually in Spring and early Summer)we will travel by raft.
Day 4 - Tue: A trip to romantic Vrgada island for sea kayaking, snorkeling and swimming. This island at the doorstep of Kornati Islands National Park has no cars or hotels. It has many cats, nice bays and beaches. Fishing and farming has always been, and still is, its way of life. In the evening we shall visit Zadar, ancient town with lively Mediterranean night life.
Day 5 - Wed: Hiking in Paklenica National Park, a mountain canyon well known for mountaineering, free climbing, caves and mountain streams.
Days 6 - Thu: Kayaking to Karin Sea for more discovery and beach activities.
Days 7 - Fri: A day to relax on a beach or take an optional trip to one of national parks – Krka River or Plitvice Lakes – or a rafting trip to Cetina River.
Day 8 - Sat: Return.

This itinerary is subject to change dependent on group abilities and preferences, weather, water levels and special events. Adriatic Travel Guides and Trip Leaders will do their outmost to ensure the best possible experience for their clients without compromising safety at any time. This may mean changing the original itinerary to avoid discomfort or risk which could be caused by exceptional heat or cold, stormy weather, heavy traffic or similar conditions.
