50 Years of Tourism and Still Counting

My life’s journey began exactly 50 years ago in the year 1967, at the age of 24. Born in and still residing in Jerusalem at that time, I had to make a reluctant decision to leave school based on the necessity. There was a burning sense of urgency and drive to find God’s purpose for my life. So, I left the Catholic Terra Sancta College in order to begin working full-time at a small office by the name of Jerusalem Tours.  With only five employees, I was now in charge of handling all incoming tourists and pilgrims coming from various parts of the world to visit the Holy Land and follow in the footsteps of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

My three years with Jerusalem Tours equipped me with an invaluable skill-set, experience, and passion needed to advance into the next season of my life. So I did just that. After finding better employment and a higher salary, I left Jerusalem Tours for an Assistant Manager position at a larger, more reputable company called Metours. Also located in Jerusalem, Metours was a company that catered to passengers primarily from Europe, USA and Asia.  Besides handling incoming tourists, Metours represented three different airlines: Swissair, Turkish Airlines and Pakistan International Airlines. With the same passion, drive and work ethic I maintain today, it was not long before I was promoted Manager of Metours.

Collectively, my years in Jerusalem enriched my knowledge and understanding of what every tourist or pilgrim expects when traveling to the Holy Land. Vitally important standards such as: quality hotels, excellent tour guides, comprehensive programs, patience and an understanding of each individual’s needs.  Around this time is when began I started to travel abroad and explore the world, visiting many European Countries and the United States of America. Eventually, my journey brought me to conceive Adriatic Pilgrimages, which I have remained General Manager of ever since.

For over twenty years now, I have had the opportunity to use my cumulative knowledge to handle countless outgoing groups of travelers and pilgrims alike. And the Lord has always allowed me the privilege of crossing paths with many wonderful people along the way. I truly find joy in meeting true believers who desire to enrich their spiritual lives by seeking out and tracing the places related to our Christian faith and Catholic tradition. Being able facilitate in helping anyone achieve that desire and curiosity is one of the great joys of my life.

On occasion, I will personally join groups on pilgrimages and trips.  In addition to having the privilege to meet many of you in person, this also allows me to check first-hand what is important to you and supply your needs to make our pilgrimages better, refined to the highest of standards, and also more affordable.  I thank you for taking the time to talk to me and share your spiritual experiences with me.

As we approach a new year 2018, I look forward to have the opportunity to help you again in your future pilgrimages and seeking new destinations and places of interest.  This will continue throughout the coming years and lead us to the great event in 2020 where we will have the opportunity to watch the amazing performance of the Passion of Christ in Oberammergau, Germany.

May God bless you all and let us continue to pray for each other and seek God’s plan in each of our lives.
