ATHENS/CORINTH
This morning we drive by the Saronic Gulf and over the Corinthian Canal to Corinth. Here the Apostle Paul came and worked and established a thriving church. We see all the sites associated with his ministry: the Agora, the Temple of Apollo, the Roman Odeon and the archaeological museum. We return back to Athens to visit the famous Parthenon and the Erechteum. On to nearby Mars’ Hill (Areopagus) where Paul delivered his well-known sermon. Later we pass by the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Parliament House and the Presidential Palace.

ATHENS/DELPHI/KALAMBAKA
This morning we depart Athens and drive through the fertile plain of Boeotia, crossing the town of Thebes, connected with the tragedy of King Oedipus, on your way to the towns of Levadia and Arachova, famous for their colorful woolen rugs and carpets. On the slopes of Mt. Parnassos, lies the archaeological site of Delphi. We visit the Sanctuary of Apollo, the Treasury of the Athenians and the Museum. Continue to Kalambaka.

KALAMBAKA/BEREA/THESSALONIKI
In the morning, we will enjoy a spectacular drive on our way to visit Meteora. First built in the 14th century by monks seeking isolation and salvation, accessible only by ropes thrown from above. Continue to Berea where Apostle Paul arrived and preached. We see the Byzantine mosaic in the monument commemorating his preaching. Then we drive to Thessaloniki.

THESSALONIKI/PHILIPPIKAVALA/ATHENS/CAIRO
Today we visit Thessaloniki: the upper part of the Old City walls with an excellent view of the city. Drive through the White Tower, Triumphal Arch and Rotunda. Visit St. Demetrius Church with its early Byzantine mosaics and St. Sophia, the first Christian Church in Thessaloniki. Continue to Philippi, where Paul came and worked, establishing a strong church. We see the river where Lydia is thought to have been baptized. Continue to Kavala, the ancient port of Neapolis. Tonight we take our flights to Cairo via Athens.

CAIRO/MUSEUM/PYRAMIDS
Arrive Cairo very early in the morning and we drive to our hotel for a few hours of sleep and rest and then, we start our tour with a visit to the Egyptian Museum with Tutankhamen’s fabulous treasures. Later, we visit the amazing Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx.

OLD CAIRO/CHURCHES/CITADEL
Today we will explore the famous Citadel of Saladdin and the Mohammed Ali Mosque, where we will enjoy a panoramic view of Cairo. Then to Old Cairo to visit the Hanging Church, the Coptic Museum and Abu Serga Church, built over the cave which provided refuge for the Holy Family. Later, visit the Church of St. Mary in Zeitoun and conclude the day shopping for some souvenirs. (Optional Nile River Cruise Dinner with show $25.00)

Today we depart Cairo and passing by the Suez Canal and the desert landscapes of Sinai Peninsula, with its many oasis. Late afternoon arrival at Mount Sinai for a quiet overnight stay near St. Catherine Monastery.

MOUNT SINAI/ST. CATHERINE/RED SEA RESORT
A wake-up call at 2:00am for those who wish to make the four-hour climb to the top of Mount Sinai, which is believed to be the location where Moses received the Ten Commandments. Down to St. Catherine Monastery, built in the sixth century to protect what was believed to be the “Burning Bush”. Later, we continue our drive to our lodging at Taba Resort on the Red Sea to relax and enjoy the beach and the warm water.

This morning we cross Taba border into Israel. We will pass by Eilat and view Masada and then we stop in Ein Gedi and enjoy a swim at the Dead Sea. Continue to Jericho to view Mount of Temptation and see the excavations. We drive through the fertile Jordan Valley to the city of Tiberias.

GALILEE/CAPERNAUM/MT. BEATITUDES/RIVER JORDAN
Today we will explore the Galilee Region and sites along the Sea of Galilee. Capernaum where Jesus preached in the Synagogue, St. Peter’s House, Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha, where Jesus multiplied the loaves of bread and fish; and the baptismal site at the River Jordan. We will also enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.

CANA/NAZARETH/HAIFA/CAESAREA/JERUSALEM
In the morning drive to Cana, the traditional site where Jesus performed His first public miracle. Then to Nazareth, visiting the Church of the Annunciation, the Holy Grotto and the Church of St. Joseph. Continue to Haifa and Mt. Carmel to visit Stella Maris Carmelite Monastery and Elijah’s Cave. As we drive along the Mediterranean Sea, we stop in Caesarea for a picture with the Roman Aqueduct.

MOUNT OF OLIVES/BETHLEHEM/EIN KAREM
We start our day with the Mount of Olives, Church of Pater Noster, down to Dominus Flevit and St. Mary Magdalene Church, and the Garden of Gethsemane. On to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity, Holy Manger, the Basilica of St. Catherine, the Milk Grotto and the Shepherds’ Field. On the way back, we stop in Ein Karem to visit the Church of the Visitation.

OLD CITY OF JERUSALEM/MOUNT ZION/BETHANY
We enter the Old City to visit the Church of St. Anne, Pools of Bethesda and follow the Stations of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Visit Golgotha and the Burial and Resurrection place of Jesus. We walk through the Cardo to the Western Wall. On to Mount Zion, visiting the Room of the Last Supper, House of Caiaphas and Church of St. Peter. Then to nearby Bethany to visit the traditional site of the House of Mary and Martha and the empty tomb of their brother Lazarus.

This morning we visit Bethany, the traditional site of the House of Mary and Martha with their brother Lazarus. We see the church and the empty tomb of Lazarus. Then we will have a panoramic tour of New Jerusalem passing by the Knesset, the Hebrew University. Continue to the Ayalon Valley to visit the Benedictine convent.
