A deposit of $350.00 plus $271.00 insurance (optional) payable to Adriatic Pilgrimages is required per person at the time of booking, but not later than May 15, 2008. Balance is due on or before July 10, 2008. Any bookings after July 11, 2008 will be subject to availability and full payment is required plus $100.00 fee for late booking.

Arrive Tel Aviv airport at 4:10 where we will be welcomed by our tour escort and bus driver. Then to the hotel to rest and enjoy our first dinner in the Holy Land.

CAESAREA/HAIFA/MT. CARMEL/CANA/NAZARETH
This morning we pass by Caesarea and see the Roman aqueduct from the times of St. Paul who was imprisoned here. Then to Haifa and Mount Carmel to visit Stella Maris Carmelite Monastery and Elijah’s Cave. On to Cana, the traditional site where Jesus attended the wedding and performed His first public miracle. We conclude the day with a visit to Nazareth to see the Church of the Annunciation, the Holy Grotto and the Church of St. Joseph.

GALILEE/CAPERNAUM/MOUNTBEATITUTDES/RIVER JORDAN/JERUSALEM
Today we will explore the sites along the Sea of Galilee. Capernaum where Jesus preached in the synagogue, St. Peter’s House, Mount of Beatitudes and Tabgha, where Jesus multiplied the loaves of bread and fish; and the baptismal site on the River Jordan and from there and through the Jordan Valley up to Jerusalem.

MOUNT OF OLIVES/BETHLEHEM/EIN KAREM
We start our day with the Mount of Olives, the Church of Pater Noster, down to Dominus Flevit and St. Mary Magdalene Church. Pray at the Garden of Gethsemane and on to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity, the Holy Manger and the Basilica of St. Catherine. Then down to the Shepherds’ Field. On the way back, we stop in Ein Karem to visit the Church of Visitation.

JERUSALEM/OLD CITY/MOUNT ZION
We enter the Old City of Jerusalem to visit the Church of St. Anne, the Pools of Bethesda and follow the Stations of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. We walk through the Cardo to the Western Wall. On Mount Zion, we visit the Room of the Last Supper, the House of Caiaphas and the Church of St. Peter.

BETHANY/JERICHO/DEAD SEA
We depart Jerusalem and stop in Bethany, known as the place where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. As we continue through the Judean Desert, we arrive Jericho to see the excavations and Mount of Temptation. Continue to Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered and later we stop at the Dead Sea before returning back to our hotel.

Transfer to Tel Aviv airport to take our flight to Rome. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and the rest of the day at leisure to relax.

ROME/BASILICAS/VATICAN MUSEUMS
This morning we visit the heart, home and spiritual capital for Catholics around the world. Visit the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel to admire the works of Michelangelo and then the Basilica of St. Peter, the crypt of Pope John Paul II and later the Basilica of St. Mary Major, the Basilica of St. John in Lateran and the Holy Stairs.

ROME/PAPAL AUDIENCE/CATACOMBS
Transfer to the Vatican City for the weekly papal audience (subject to the Holy Father’s health and schedule). Following the audience we will have a panoramic tour of Imperial Rome and we visit the Catacombs of St. Sebastian where the early Christians used to hide from persecution.

ROME/ORVIETO/LORETO/ANCONA
Today we drive to Orvieto to see the Cathedral, located in the town’s main square and is the landmark of the tiny city. View the holy corporal containing the blood from the Eucharistic Miracle of Orvieto in 1263 that occasioned the Feast of Corpus Christi. Then to the great Marian Shrine of Loreto to see the family home of Jesus, Mary and Joseph located inside the Basilica of Loreto, where it has been since 1294. Then to Ancona to take our overnight ferry boat to Split.

SPLIT/MEDJUGORJE
Arrive Split in the morning, where we take our bus and drive to Medjugorje. We spend the afternoon exploring this peaceful place. After dinner, we can join villagers and pilgrims for the evening Mass and the blessing of the sick.

MEDJUGORJE/SPLIT
This morning we attend the English Mass at St. James Church and later we accompany our local guide as we follow the same path up the apparition hill where the young visionaries first encountered Our Lady. Our guide will arrange a meeting with one of the visionaries in front of their homes or a public place (subject to their schedule and health). In the afternoon we take our bus to Split and board the ferry boat back to Ancona, Italy.

ANCONA/ASSISI
Arrive Ancona in the morning where we board our motor coach and drive to Assisi to explore the hilltop birthplace of St. Francis. Visit the Basilica of St. Francis and the Basilica of St. Clare then down to the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and the Porziuncola.

This morning we will have some time at leisure in Assisi and then we board our bus and return back to Rome and visit the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels before going to our hotel.
